Engineering
Sizing force, stroke, speed, installation position, motor, sensors and control.
Engineering & manufacturing from one source
S+R develops electric linear actuators from the load case outward – individually engineered, robustly built and traceably documented.
Solutions
The entry point may be a new development, retrofit, series assembly or repair. What matters is that the solution fits the problem: technically sound, commercially appropriate and traceable later in service.

Machining, assembly, testing and documentation from one source.
Repair, spare parts and retrofit support, also for older electric linear actuators and installed units.

Repeatable assemblies, defined variants and technical alignment for serial demand.
Industries
Many inquiries do not start with a product range. They start with a machine: flap, slide, format adjustment, test bench, retrofit or series assembly. The industries lead faster to the right technical question.

An existing machine geometry left very little axial space but required a robust lifting motion.

The product families show how S+R typically builds force line, space, protection, sensors and control. For customer projects, these principles are adapted, combined or extended.
Control-independent · your advantage
We build the actuator – with mechanics proven robust over decades. Which control system drives it remains your decision: the S+R mechanics are not tied to any control brand or generation, but fit into what already runs at your site. The achievable motion performance scales with your control system and drive – the proven mechanics stay independent. That saves concretely: during commissioning, on licences, on spare parts and across the entire machine lifecycle.
Your team stays in its familiar control and operating world – whether Siemens TIA Portal, Beckhoff TwinCAT or your factory standard. No onboarding onto a foreign, proprietary system means shorter commissioning and faster service.
You program in the engineering system you have licensed anyway. A second, vendor-bound control software solely for the actuator is unnecessary – no separate licence island to procure and maintain on the side.
The actuator follows your plant standard. That means fewer spare-part and control variants, uniform diagnostics and a consistent maintenance routine – instead of a special solution for a single component.
No black-box control that ties you to a single supplier over the machine lifecycle. You stay free in service, expansion and the choice of a second source – the actuator follows your control system, not the other way around.
Control systems age within a few years, robust mechanics run longer. During a control modernisation or a retrofit the proven actuator stays in place – no forced full replacement just because the control world changes.
If your plant mandates a specific control platform, we design the actuator exactly to it – also in the installed base and during retrofit. That saves special approvals and architecture breaks.
You decide – on the control system and on the motor. Which drive delivers the motion is shown in the Motion Control section: the same principle on the drive side.
Motors & motion control
We build the actuator. You choose the motor that drives it – from a robust three-phase motor to a servo drive for demanding motion control.
Robust, economical standard solution for reliable lifting and positioning motion – proven and long-lasting.
For precise, dynamic and networked motion we equip the actuator with all common servo motors – e.g. SEW, Beckhoff (EtherCAT), Fanuc, Siemens (PROFINET, SIMOTION) – exactly as it fits your control environment.
Customer-supplied servo motors are possible: you provide the preferred motor, we integrate it into the actuator.

Process
We guide each project from the first load case to the right solution: technically sound, commercially appropriate and as specific as needed - no more and no less.
We assess force, stroke, environment, installation position and existing drawings, then identify early what really matters.
With experience from engineering, manufacturing and service, we select the product range, spindle, motor, sensors and protection class to fit the problem.
Once the technical route is clear, drawing, assembly, testing and documentation come from one source.
After delivery, repair, spare parts, retrofit and technical questions remain traceable and supported.
From one source
Series production, custom builds and service work together so load case, interface and documentation remain traceable for engineering, purchasing and maintenance.
Spindles, bearings and connection geometry are prepared so serial demand and spare-part supply remain traceable.
Service cases, retrofit and new designs are handled by people who understand both mechanics and the application.
When force, stroke, mounting or environment differ from standard, the solution is built from drawings, load case and manufacturing experience.
Component quality
An electric actuator is only as reliable as the combination of screw, motor, gearbox, coupling, brake, sensors and interface. Depending on the load case, S+R uses proven components from established manufacturers and integrates them into a testable S+R assembly.
Examples of project-specific component manufacturers. The actual selection depends on load case, environment, installation space, control concept and service requirements.
Typical use cases
This experience becomes relevant where standard catalogues end too early: high forces, limited space, harsh environments, retrofit and documented series capability.
